Benjamin K. Burkhart

Ben is an entrepreneur. In 2005, he formed a joint venture team to build a 70,000 square foot self storage business in Powhatan, Virginia. In 2006, after seven years as a self storage lender with one of the largest banks in the world, he decided to leave the corporate world and form his own company. His decision to leverage his experience in the self storage industry, along with his talents in finance and business, led to the opening of his own consulting firm, BKB Properties. Ben has contributed articles to trade magazines and has participated as a keynote speaker at state and national self storage seminars.

Outside of his professional life, Ben is a family guy. He enjoys working close to home, as to not miss time with his lovely wife and child. He is a musician, playing the guitar and writing songs as he is blessed with ideas. He is an outdoorsman, spending much time in the Fall of the year in the woods. He is a Christian, with a burden to become a better man. He is a forward thinker, always careful to measure today’s actions by tomorrow’s results.

His business philosophy is to do good business with good people.
